This method of joining is absolutely gorgeous and one of my favorites, hands-down! The Gourmet Crochet- Flat Braid Joining method by Carolyn Christmas is quick and the results are impressive. It can be easily used for squares that are not all the same size. You can collect all the squares you have in the house or use all your stash to make new squares and turn everything into a spectacular blanket using this technique.

Does anyone have the pattern for this square? Would be a great stash buster!
Yes I would like the pattern too
I agree! Where can we find the pattern for the square?
Figured it out… Center is “aligned shell s$#%&!@*ch” followed by a round of single chain, followed by a row of double chain, followed by a row of single chain, chain 3 (this is the flat braid join row). Use the picture as your guide.
Beautiful.
Click on the picture to see the article about this s$#%&!@*ch. The link to the pattern is in the second sentence in the first paragraph of the article. There are pictures with each step of the written instructions.
Yes bit those instructions are for the joining s$#%&!@*ch only, not the square itself.
Thanks Ronda!

Oh to learn this !!!
Wish there was a video.
Denise, take each line of the pattern and look at the pics. Give it a try. That is how I do these photo tutorials….a section at a time.
There are videos on YouTube. This is the way I learned to join my granny squares years ago, I love it so much I’ve never tried any other way.
THANK YOU IT IS VERY PRETTY
