Hi Paula, sorry for the late answer, I was not sure what’s happening. Indeed, the Examiner site redirects to AXS starting a few days ago. Apparently, they took the Examiner site down, therefore the patterns are not available for the moment. I redirected the links to ravelry where the designer has her own page and I guess for now we’ll just wait to see where this pattern is going to be made available, hopefully pretty soon. The mixed grit stitch, actually.
This is actually what it is. Scroll down and you’ll see how to do the “mixed grit stitch.” The pattern uses this stitch and a discontinued yarn, so if you want to closely replicate the picture, use a bulky yarn and the size hook that’s called for on the yarn label.

Have you done any of the CAL’s ( crochet along) I stumbled on them last week. They post sections of the pattern every 2 weeks and then you have time to do the motifs before the next part. Check out Stylecraft. Com they come out of the U.K. And there is even a FB page so you can share your progress and discuss any questions you have with others all over the world.

NOTE: There was a disparity in the hook size that has been corrected. The pattern calls for an M hook with the bulky yarn.
Abbreviations
Ch = chain
Sk = skip
St = stitch
SC = single crochet
DC = double crochet
Done in a Jiffy Baby Blanket Pattern
With size M crochet hook and Baby’s First yarn, ch 79.
Row 1: DC in third ch from hook, *sk 1 st, SC and DC in next stitch (both in same stitch), repeat from * across, ending with sk 1 st, SC in last stitch. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2: DC in first st (turning ch counts as the SC), *sk 1 st, SC and DC in next stitch (both in same stitch), repeat from * across, ending with sk 1 st, SC in last stitch/turning ch. Ch 2, turn.
Repeat row 2 for entire pattern until you reach the desired length. Cut yarn, weave in ends.

I can’t get to the pattern.
I tried to find that particular yarn to make this, but Lion Brand discontinued this yarn. Is there another yarn that is comparable to it? If so, please let me know. Thanks. I want to make it for my niece who is expecting her first child.
