Amineko the Crochet Cat, from Hello My Name Is Amineko: The Story of a Crafty Crochet Cat is a pattern I found on ravelry , offered for free by Nekoyama, the author of the book. The cute pattern is quite easy to make and is a great gift for everybody, at any age.
The original amineko cats were usually made of light fingering yarn for softness.

This is a somewhat tough one. The pattern is in Japanese, with translation to English. Strange (to me) diagrams.
I have the book and have made several of these for my girls. They love it.
