I have been looking for this pattern for a while now and finally, I came to realize that is a very popular pattern in Brazil, and all the written patterns or video patterns I could find are in Portuguese. Now, the good news is that I was able to find a photo tutorial with written instructions on each picture. With a bit of patience and with the help of Google translate, you may be, actually, able to translate each step and complete this project. For more help, on the next you'll find a video tutorial, still in Portuguese, however, I hope, even if you don't understand the language, just seeing how the pattern is being done, is going to help. If by any chance, I'm going to find the En version for this pattern, I'm going to add it here and let you know.

Pineapple Owl Rug Pattern
This gorgeous pineapple owl rug was found at http://www.crochelinhasagulhas.com it was originally apicture tutorial written in Portuguese. While easy to follow, I personally prefer a written pattern in standard American English notation.
Body.
With MC:
Ch 10 join with sl st to form ring.
1: ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 5, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc
(there should be a small gap in the ring. this is ok and will be needed later for outer rounds)
2: ch 3, 3 dc in ch 2 sp, ch 2, 3 dc in same ch 2 sp, 13 dc in ch 5 sp, 3 dc in ch 2 sp, ch 2, 3 dc in same ch 2 sp; turn.
(don’t connect to previous row, this creates the ‘scalloping’ edge on the pineapple later)

Tidy up your ends. The hard part is done.Eyes (make 2)
1: With Black: Make a Magic Circle. Ch 3, 14 dc around, sl st to join and bind off.
2: With Eye Color: 2 dc in ea dc around. (30 dc total). join w sl st
3: 2dc in one, 1 dc in one all the way around (45 dc total) join w sl st and bind off.
4: With Black: 2 dc in, 1 dc in 1 x3 all the way around. sl st and bind off.With Black: Join the eyes with 10 sc. I think. There needs to be a small space between them while they’re solidly joined. It looks weird if they’re joined the normal way.
With C2:
dc around the eyes. I suggest 3 dc then 2 dc in 1 dc. follow the pictures, it’s hard to explain. I may revise this section for my own personal reasons.The Beak:
So, in the picture she starts with 12 stitches at the ‘top’ of the eyes and somehow used dc’s to decrease and it looks solid. Even with my tight tension, I had holes all over the place. so I switched to sc and it worked a lot easier. Just wing it. so long as it’s a triangle and it’s solid it’s all good.
The Brow:
start in the crotch opposite the beak. sl st up the side then do recommended dcs, sl st to join (obviously)
1: 3 sl st, 4 dc
2: 3 sl st, 7 dc
3:3 sl st, 15 dcThe Ears:
Count 14 dc from brow section, this is the outside stitch of the ear.
the ear starts with 9 dc and decreases down by skipping each dc on the edges (9, 7, 5, 3, 1). Don’t really know how to explain this either.Attach that cute little face to that cute little body and you’re done. It’s a lot easier than it looks.
But, the good news is, you have the pictures from the original blog to look at until I create my own to better explain this. but this works out in my head, so it should translate fairly well to yours.
Follow along with Cidinha Crochê and make this beautiful rug for the kid's playroom or maybe as a rug for the bathroom. The video tutorial is in Portuguese, so for those who do not understand this language, make sure you check the photo tutorial on page one for more help. This rug has been made using hook #4. The finished size for this rug is 57 x 45 (cm).

I am working on translating the pattern to English from the picture tutorial. I’ve done so for several other patterns in other languages, so why not give Portuguese a try. I love owls and pineapples, so I *have* to have this pattern workable for myself; and I will share when I get it figured out. Hi I was following you pattern and I believe you made a mistake between rows 16 an 17 you must bring that pineapple down to 1 for it to look right you brought it down to 2 and went on with the ending row of the pineapple, I have fixed this in mental notes to self, so when you go to make the color change you should have 20 fans not 19 … I just thought I would bring it to you attention…. I searched a Lot until I found your pattern in English. I have made the owl rug and now I thank you for giving me and others the ability to make more of the owls out there. Thank you! The tank shouldn’t be hard and I found a way to keep the seat cover attached – with closed eyes when raised!

This is a pattern that is in Portuguese. I did NOT create this pattern. I saw this pattern in a video from Pinterest. I searched everywhere for this pattern in English but never found it. So I decided to help people do this patten. Good luck!

Tidy up your ends. The hardest part is done.
Eyes (make 2)
1: With Black: Make a Magic Circle. Ch 3, 14 dc around, sl st to join and bind off.
2: With Eye Color: 2 dc in ea dc rep around. (30 dc total). join w sl st
3: ch 3 dc in same sp, 1 dc in next dc, *2dc , 1 dc , 2dc* in next stitch rep all the way around (45 dc total) join w sl st and bind off.
4: With Black: ch 1, 1 dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc rep around. sl st and bind off.
With Black: Join the eyes with 10 sl st . There needs to be a small space between them while they’re solidly joined.
With C2:
dc around the eyes. Ch 1 1 dc in same dc, 1 dc in next dc, *2dc then 1dc in next 3 dc* around bind of
The Beak:
1: Count 5 dc from center of eyes. Chain 3 dc in each of the next stitches. Dec in next to dc turn
Rep round one until you have only one dec and one dc bind off
You are doing so well!
The Brow:
start in the center of eyes opposite the beak. sl st up the side then do recommended dcs, sl st to join.
1: Chain 3 turn count 3 dcs and then sl st 4 dc in same sp
2: Chain 3 turn count 3 dcs and then sl st 7 dc in same sp
3: Chain 3 turn count 3 dcs and then sl st 15 dc in same sp
The Ears:
Count 7 dc mark it on both sides. Then do the next stitches starting at the outer part of the ear hdc, dc, triple dc, quad (4)dc quint (5)dc sex 6dc 7 dc bind off.
Now just weave in your ends sew the head to the body and you are finished. Congratulations on your first owl rug!
