Materials:
Worsted Weight Yarn ~ 1200-1800 yards. This afghan looks more amazing using 3-5 colors of yarn. In the photo shown I used Lion Brand Pound of Love Yarn in Bubble Gum, Turquoise, Honey Yellow and Lavender.

I made this as a Christmas present for my niece. The finished product was beautiful. Since you are overstitching into rows below, it makes for a warm blanket. It was well worth the effort!
My Daddy loved to send me crochet patterns, all the time, through email. He passed away in November 2018 and this was the last pattern he sent me. I was going through emails from him and came across it. I decided to give it a go. I have been wanting to make a blanket that represents my dog, Sarah. She is 13 years old. I gathered a few brown shades and black yarn. Of course, I have to throw it some gray. After all, she is 13! I have been working on a large blanket with this pattern and these colors for about a week now. This is, hands down, one of my favorite blankets I have made. Both sides of the blanket are beautiful. The over stitching add such an awesome dimension. I have to stop and admire this as I am crocheting it! It’s a lot of fun to work up. I will appreciate this blanket for many years to come, for many reasons.
