This hat with subtle ridges is such a lovely, elegant pattern! The Flapper Hat by Sarah Arnold is with subtle ridges super easy and super fun to make, one of those hats that you'll be wearing a lot during the cold season. You'll need to learn the back post double crochet to make those ridges, or if you already know how to do them, this pattern will be even easier. Add a colored ribbon, a flower or a feathered hair clip to make this hat even more adorable.

Gauge: 7.5 dc stitches should be 2” across. 2 rows of dc should be 1” high

Note:This hat was made using a lighter WW yarn with a lot of drape. If you use a stiffer more bulky yarn the bpdc ridges will be much more pronounced than in the picture. Some like this effect, others do not. If you wish to leave out the ridges you can substitute dc for the bpdc throughout the pattern.

Finished Size:Unstretched circumference is 22” but the hat can easily stretch to larger sizes. It’s supposed to be more of a loose fit since the style is more dressy than beanie-style hats, so don’t worry if it’s a bit larger than your head.
