Crochet yourself a pumpkin – the perfect pattern for autumn! With this one basic pattern, you can create a realistic pumpkin for your Fall table, a cute amigurumi-style pumpkin for the kids, or a spooooooooooooooky pumpkin for Halloween.
Yarn: worsted weight yarn in orange, plus brown or green for the stalk
Hook: E US/3.5mm crochet hook

My pumpkin for my 3 month old grandson.
Pattern
Body
Chain 20.
Turn chain 3 for first dc.
Row 1 to 20..
1 dc in each back loop.
Tie off
Join to make seam.
Join with appropriate stitch.
Bottom
Ch 2.
In first ch dc 18.
Join.
Row 2 dc 36 join
Row 3 dc 54 join and tie off
Stitch bottom to body with seam on inside.
Stem n top
Ch 2
Row 1 to row 10
Single crochet 5..
Keep it 5 SC for 10 rows ..tie iff
Work in and tie off yarn at beginning.
Now with pumpkin color join with slip stitch to stem.
Row 1With dc do 28 in stem bottom.
Row 2 is 53 dc
Row 3 is 70 dc
Row 4 is 82 dc
Tie off ..work in and tie all ends securely.
Curly vine
Brown or any color desired.
Chain 25..
Turn..
2.sc in each chain till end. .tie well.
Work yarn ends in bottom of stem from front to back.
Tie and work in.
Leaf.
15 chain
Turn..SC in next 3 ch
Half dc in next 3 ch
DC in next 3 ch
Half dc in next 3 ch
SC in last 3 ch..
Turn
Going back into chain and repeat stitches
Tie off.
Work ends in as for curly vine.. from front to back.
Tie and work in.
Stuff body careful not to stretch stitches too much.
Attach top to body loosely with different color yarn just to hold in place while securing with pumpkin color yarn.
Taking a yarn needle working around the pumpkin secure the top to the body.
Work in ends and tie.
Note
The yarn around the leaf is done with 2 contrasting colors just using yarn needle and picking up the front stitch of the dc.
