EVERYONE loves this afghan. This is one of my favorite patterns for a baby blanket and a great, easy, and beautiful project. Baby\'s ABC\'s Afghan by Caron Design Team works up quickly and is a sophisticated gift for a new baby or for soon-to-be parents. This very cute blanket is very easy to make and very elegant and well worth the effort. You can always add a cute border to make the edges more interesting.
I’ve made this pattern many times.
I like working the border as I go instead of adding it later… therefore I add
4 more stitches to my foundation chain in order to incorporate two extra stitches on each side of the afghan… placing puff stitches to form the edges. (Source)
Here is a better version of the chart.
Materials: 5 skeins
Finished Measurements: 35” x 42”

Love this pattern for family
thank you!
I’m going to pin it! Future project maybe
I’m working on my third one in 2 months, lol….. I did modify the letters B, P, and R to make them more rounded, and put hearts and basic shapes in the corners. I also added a double row of puff s$#%&!@*ches in between the blocks, and a ruffled border for a girl. This is a photo of my first one, because I forgot to modify the R….. 🙂
AWESOME!
Cute
Oh, this is so clever, and those popcorn stitches are easy to make!
This is the first one I made!! <3
Lovely, Janet! I love your color choices! <<3
I really like this one. The hearts make it more fun! I love your colors too!
Thank you! 🙂 I love that the pattern is so versatile. I’ve made several of these, and I’ve used different graphs and borders.
